Mud Silk, also known as Gambiered Canton Silk, is a traditional Chinese silk textile treasured for its distinctive natural dyeing process, artisanal craftsmanship, and rich cultural heritage.

The silk undergoes repeated treatments with tannin-rich extracts from the gambier yam plant, followed by sun-drying and treatment with iron-rich river mud. This time-honored process creates the characteristic black reverse side and gives Mud Silk its distinctive appearance and unique natural character.

For this collection, vibrant designs are printed onto the front surface after the traditional mud-dyeing process. Crafted from 30 momme heavy silk charmeuse, the fabric combines a substantial, opaque body with exceptional fluidity, a beautifully smooth hand, and a refined silk luster.
