Natural Plant Dye
Our plant-dyed cotton fabric is handcrafted by local women in Guizhou, using naturally grown dye plants such as Dioscorea cirrhosa Lour (Shu Liang) and persimmons. Following traditional Chinese dyeing methods, no chemicals are added during the process. The yarn is dyed by hand, and the fabric is woven using traditional looms. As a result, the fabric width typically ranges from 30 to 45 cm, with a maximum length of 15 meters per roll. This fabric is ideal for handcraft projects, interior decoration, and can also be used to create traditional clothing.
SPECIAL NOTE
Due to the low color fastness of plant-dyed fabric, fading and discoloration are inevitable. This fabric's small width makes it ideal for use as a table runner, and it is also perfect for DIY crafts, bags, mug mats, dolls, curtains, and home décor projects.
ABOUT OUR PLANT-DYE COTTON
🤞 Each Piece is Unique : The cotton fabric you receive may differ slightly from the photos shown, as each one is hand-painted, woven, and dyed, making every piece one-of-a-kind.
🤞 Defects : Please note that natural variations such as uneven dyeing, color differences, spots, small holes, and rough edges are inherent in handmade, non-machine fabrics.
🤞 Washing Instructions : Discoloration may occur during washing. Avoid soaking for long periods or using detergents with bleach. Hand washing is recommended. Keep away from white or light-colored clothing, strong sunlight, and acidic/alkaline liquids.
🤞 Smell : The fabric may carry a natural scent from the plant/mud dye. If the smell is uncomfortable, washing the fabric several times before use will help.
