ABOUT Hongyunsha & HUALUO

HongYunSha is one kind of the Gambiered Canton silk made with same traditional plant dye processing but no mud processing. Without the mud processing it requires more times of plant dye to give its special & natural rich red tone earth color( Chinese call it HongYunSha). That's why it is more expensive than standard Gambiered Caton silk.

Due to its handmade procedure, all the fabrics will naturally have un-even dye, few black spots, white/brown marks, color stains, etc, especially on the back side of the silk. It also will have small holes, color difference and scratches on the 5cm fabric edges.

In ancient times, "luo" (leno) was the most esteemed among all silks and satins, symbolizing the wealth and status of high-ranking officials and nobility. Recognized as an intangible cultural heritage, HUALUO is celebrated for its distinctive and exquisite style. It remains highly valued for its lightness, thinness, and breathability.

SPECIAL NOTE

WASHING GUIDE ✨

⚬ Dry clean is best and highly recommended

⚬ Hand Wash with silk detergent in cool water

⚬ No need soaking

⚬ NO soap, no bleach, no tumble dry

⚬ DO NOT machine washing for this precious PIZI mud silk

⚬ Inevitable color fading during washing due to nature plant dye without chemical treatment finishing

HOW TO ORDER

Fabric is sold by per yard and you can select the quantity you want at the drop down menu. For example if you want 3 yard, please choose quantity as 3.

When you choose 0.5 yard per unit:

Qty 1 = 0.5 Yard

Qty 2 = 1 yard

Qty 3 = 1.5 Yards

Qty 4 = 2 Yards

... and so on

SILK ITEMS INCLUDE SILK FABRIC

Silk fabrics naturely have a water shrinkage varies from 1~20% (pls. refer to item description) so WASH BEFORE SEWING

• Dry clean is best and recommended
• Hand wash or machine wash lukewarm (max 86°F/30°C) at most gentle cycle
• Use special detergent made for silk/wool only
• Do not tumble dry
• Hung dry or flat dry avoiding direct strong sunlight
• Steam or iron low (wool/silk) 
• Iron on the reverse side
